How and when you got into the trade?
I have been making jewelry since I was a kid, I would go to construction site and find colorful wire to make into rings and sell them at the neighborhood swimming pool! Fast forward to college, I was in art school and my Design 1 professor asked me to take her intro to Jewelry Design class the minute my hands touched the metal, I knew that is what I wanted to do! My BFA is in Metal/Jewelry Design from ECU 1998. I’ve been custom making jewelry for 23 years and still love every minute of it!
How would you describe your work in 5 words?
Timeless, refined, rustic, minimal, artisan.
Where do you take your inspiration from?
Much of my inspiration comes from nature, the repetition in pattern of a tree’s bark, the sparkles in a flower petal, the markings on the wing of a butterfly, all of these tiny details that can so easily be missed if you aren’t looking closely. These are the amazing parts of creation are the things that inspire my designs!

What was the most memorable piece that you made?
This Giant Beauty Salt and Pepper Pear Diamond from our Mistfit collection, you know how some diamonds just take your breath away and you can’t stop thinking of them!
I like to keep things simple and timeless with an artisan feel, really letting the stone alway have center stage, I mean look at this thing of rare beauty all 2.7cts, it’s just magical!
Why do you enjoy working with Misfit diamonds?
Because they are all fabulous! Seriously though, the ethical diamonds are such a huge part of my heart and vision as a jewelry designer and to be able to partner with a company like Misfit that shares the same ethics and vision is just amazing! Not to mention they are the best at sourcing some of the most unique and magical diamonds I have ever had the pleasure to design with!
