Attic Gold - Susan and Melissa

Attic Gold - Melissa and Susan

How and when you got into the trade?

We met at George Brown in the Jewellery Arts program in 2008 and talked at every chance we could about creating our dream company together. After graduation, we both worked in the trade until joining forces to launch ATTIC in 2015.

Where do you take your inspiration from?

We think a lot about who will be wearing the pieces when we design, function and longevity are so important to us. We find inspiration in so many things like elements of classic jewellery forms, or the unique diamonds we get to select for a piece.

How would you describe your work in 5 words?

Timeless, minimal, beautiful, interesting, modern.

What was the most memorable piece that you made?

We created a ring for a Gem Breakfast x Misfit collab using the most magical opalescent fancy-white marquise diamond a few years ago. We still think about that stone!

Why do you enjoy working with Misfit diamonds?

We’ve been working with Ashkan since we started our company, he’s always been so supportive as a supplier and also as a friend. His passion for the trade and the amount of work he’s put into growing Misfit Diamonds is inspiring. The team he’s built is such a pleasure to work with.
